Carey Gabay, 43, a top lawyer in N. Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration is in critical condition after being shot in the head early Monday morning before the start of the West Indian Day parade.
Appointed First Deputy Counsel for Empire State Development in January, Gabay is clinging to life after what Cuomo described as a “seemingly random bullet” struck him in the head.
Authorities do not believe Gabay, nor his brother who was with him, were the gunman’s intended targets.
