In Christian circles, the names Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker are associated with a sex scandal, fraud and disgrace.

But BeBe and CeCe Winans see the former “The PTL Club” co-hosts through eyes of love.

“To this day, Jim Bakker is one of our dearest friends,” said Grammy-winning Winans, 58, in a Washington Post interview about his upcoming Broadway musical, “Born for This: the BeBe Winans Story.”

“And Tammy Faye became our mother. Thirty years after [“PTL”],” continued Winans, who used to sing backup for the Bakkers, along with his sister, CeCe.

“When my sister and I were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the first person I called was Jim Bakker,” he said.

The Bakkers founded the Praise the Lord network in 1974, based in North Carolina and became widely popular as hosts of  “The PTL Club,” later syndicated as “The Jim and Tammy Show.”
