It’s the end of an era for a legendary and beloved Cleveland-area broadcaster.

For 21 years, Kym Sellers has been as close as your car radio or Internet live feed hosting “The Quiet Storm” on 93.1 WZAK.

Her velvet voice mixed with relaxing R&B music and a genuinely kind heart and open ear made her a favorite among listeners.

Thursday night, Sellers announced at the start of her show that it would be her last broadcast on that station.

“But I am not retiring,” said Sellers, “Whoever said it, stop saying it because this is not a retirement, but it is a time of celebration and a time for change.”

The always-positive Sellers accepted with dignity and grace that her contract wasn’t renewed; she even thanked Radio One for all they’ve done for her.
