Marvin Sapp was on his way to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands when he was notified of an issue with his luggage. After choosing to cancel his engagement the day of, event organizers are upset and he is apologizing

Feelings of hostility linger toward recording artist Marvin Sapp after he canceled a St. Croix preaching engagement at the last minute about a week ago.

Now the “Never Would Have Made It” singer is publicly apologizing and attempting to explain why he didn’t go.

“I do want to apologize to the people of St. Croix because without question my intent was to be there,” said Sapp, 48, in an interview with The Consortium.

The Grammy-nominated artist, who was recently elevated to the office of Bishop, blames a baggage recovery debacle for his absence.
