Mayor Frank G. Jackson and other city officials will participate in this year’s Veterans Day recognition ceremony and parade to honor and remember all those who have served in our armed forces.
In addition to these events, the facade of Cleveland City Hall will be lit up with green lights to show recognition and support for Cleveland-area veterans.
City Hall will be lit green in accordance with the Greenlight A Vet initiative, a campaign to establish visible, national support for veterans by changing building lights to the color green.
At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the first annual Cleveland Veterans Day Parade will begin in front of City Hall at 601 Lakeside Avenue.
The parade will proceed east on Lakeside Avenue to East 9th Street, south towards Superior Avenue, west towards West Mall Drive, and finally north onto Lakeside Avenue back to City Hall.
The Grand Marshall of this year’s parade is Anthony Paskevich Jr., a Navy Cross Recipient.
Immediately following the parade, a special Veterans Day recognition ceremony will be held inside the rotunda of City Hall at 11 a.m.
