Sunday will mark one year since 12-year-old Tamir Rice was shot and killed by Cleveland Police Officer Timothy Loehmann.

Rice had an airsoft replica gun outside the Cudell Recreation Center. Loehmann and his partner Frank Garmback were responding to a call of someone brandishing a weapon.

Loehmann shot and killed Rice within two seconds of his cruiser pulling up in front of Rice. The incident was captured on video by a camera on the Cudell grounds.

Three experts retained by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty have called the shooting tragic but “reasonable,” based on the information police had at the time.
