Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to helping the poor of Calcutta, will be made a saint in the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican said Friday.
She was beatified in 2003 by the late Pope John Paul II — but full sainthood requires the declaration of two miracles.
Her Missionaries of Charity helped the poor on the streets of Calcutta, India, and won her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
Mother Teresa died in 1997.
