Las Vegas Strip: Driver Hits Over 30 Pedestrians In ‘Intentional’ Act:

A driver plowed into a sidewalk several times at the Las Vegas Strip, injuring more than 30 pedestrians in what authorities described as an “intentional” act.

At least one person was killed and 37 others injured near the Paris Las Vegas hotel Sunday night, authorities said.

The driver is in custody, and undergoing tests for alcohol and controlled substances. A 3-year-old child in the car with her was unharmed.

“This was not an act of terrorism,” Deputy Police Chief Brett Zimmerman said.

Wrong Contestant Crowned At Miss Universe 2015:

Beauty pageants are places where grace and poise are meant to rule, but a decidedly awkward moment stole the show Sunday.

Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey wrongfully declared Miss Colombia the winner when she was the first runner-up. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the contestant from the Philippines, had won.

A contrite Harvey was forced to fix his mistake.

“OK folks … I have to apologize,” he told a confused crowd in Las Vegas.

“Let me just take control of this. This is exactly what’s on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card.”

‘Star Wars’ Awakens To Biggest Box Office Opening Ever:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens” became the biggest opening in movie history bringing in an estimated $238 million in the U.S. this weekend.

The film flew past the opening weekend record held by Universal’s “Jurassic World,” which made $208.8 million on the weekend it opened in June.

So far the film has made $517 million around the world since opening overseas on Wednesday. This is the second highest global debut of all-time behind only “Jurassic World,” which made $525 million globally in June.
