Each January, well-meaning individuals make numerous resolutions to improve some aspect of their lives. Eat healthy, exercise daily, spend more time with family, save more money. While many of these resolutions dry up by the end of the month, some become healthy new habits that benefit the person in numerous ways. If prayer is not already a priority in your daily life, allow me to offer why and how to make prayer a new habit for you in the new year.

When you think of prayer, don’t think of it as a spare tire you pull out when you find yourself in a crisis. Rather, consider it the steering wheel for your life. It should be the priority, for it links you to the One who can guide you, protect you, provide for you, and mold your heart for His glory.
