A senior living center here was shaken up by a shooting that left two housekeepers dead Thursday.

Residents at Hamlet Village say their place is normally very quiet and peaceful.

But on Thursday morning, residents in one building found a man lying in the entranceway.

“Someone’s been shot, a black man with the purple jacket lying in the hallway. And they see shell casings,” said an office manager in the 911 call.

Police say the man, who has not yet been identified, was a chef there. He opened fire on two female housekeepers just after 8:30 a.m.

The shooting left him in critical condition and the two women dead.

Police identified the victims as Catherine Sutter, 58, of Burton, and Terri Treadway, 58, of Chardon.
