CLEVELAND– With less than a week until Opening Day, the Cleveland Indians continue to put the finishing touches on the latest round of improvements to Progressive Field.

The team unveiled its new scoreboard Tuesday afternoon, showing off the system’s capabilities. It measures 59 feet by 221 feet, and replaces the old scoreboard, which was installed in 2004.

“We were about two years past end-of-life on our old, main scoreboard. But a lot of the equipment that ran it, in the back of the house was upwards of 20 years old. And it had just runs its course and become very difficult to maintain,” said Neil Weiss, Indians senior vice president. “We’re as good as any ballpark in the majors right now….
