Roller coasters at Kings Island may face some stiff competition from the park’s new water slide attraction with near vertical free falls, loops and twists.

The Mason park has announced in a press release Tropical Plunge will debut on May 28 when the rest of the Soak City Waterpark opens for the summer. Construction on the project is still underway.

Riders can choose between six water slide experiences in the complex that reaches nearly seven stories, the release said.

Three of the slides shoot riders out of an “Aqua-Launch chamber” by dropping the floor from under their feet. Another slide will features four 360-degree loops over 449 feet of slide.

The last two 337-foot slides allow riders to race beside each other through a series of drops and turns.
