The Cleveland Cavaliers have clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the 2016 NBA Playoffs.

After winning their previous four games before dropping back-to-back contests at the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls last week, the Cavaliers (57-24) got back in the win column with a 109-94 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Quicken Loans Arena tonight.

Prior to this year, the Cavaliers have twice earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference in their history, during the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons, but in each of those years, they failed to make it out of the Eastern Conference and through to the NBA Finals.

The Cavaliers clinched the top seed in the East three weeks after winning their second consecutive Central Division Championship.
