Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been denied reinstatement by the National Football League, according to league sources.

The decision regarding Gordon’s denied reinstatement came one day after multiple media outlets reported that he failed a drug test in March when a urine sample showed an amount of marijuana lower than the threshold required. However, Gordon’s sample was reportedly diluted, which equaled a failed test under NFL rules.

The earliest Gordon can re-apply for reinstatement is August 1st. Should Gordon choose to re-apply, he will be drug tested up to 12 times a month because he is a repeat offender of the substance-abuse policy.

Currently, Gordon is serving a suspension for a failed drug test following a trip to Las Vegas with teammates and coaches last January.
