Cleveland neighborhoods are dealing with a rise in felonious assaults involving a gun.
At this time in 2014, there had only been 183 felonious assaults with a firearm. In 2015 by this time, the number had risen to 210.
This year felonious assaults with a have outpaced both previous years.
Cleveland police have logged 425 felonious assaults with a gun so far in 2016, a marked increase.
“We’re getting to a point to where the way we are resolving crisis in our community is by picking up a gun,” said Cleveland City Councilman Zack Reed.
The facts are alarming for Reed, who witnessed the shooting of a 14-year-old a few blocks away from his home.
