Obama Lifts U.S. Arms Ban On Vietnam:

President Obama has announced that the United States is fully lifting the ban on the sale of military equipment to Vietnam which has been in place for decades.

In a joint news conference with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, Obama said that the removal of the ban was part of a deeper defense co-operation with the country and dismissed suggestions it was aimed at countering China’s growing strength in the region.

Instead, it was the desire to continue normalizing relations between the U.S. and Vietnam and to do away with a ban “based on ideological division between our two countries,” he said.

Billboard Music Awards 2016: What You Missed:

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards were held Sunday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it was non-stop star power and performances.

If you didn’t get a chance to see it, here’s some of what you missed:

All is forgiven Britney Spears

This being Vegas, it seems only right that Spears should open the show.
After all, Spear’s “Piece of Me” show is one of the hottest tickets in that town and she gave a pretty flavorful taste of it when she opened the awards show with a medley of her hits.
Wearing a red sequined, barely there outfit surrounded on the stage by dancers, she strutted and slinked all over the place. It more than made up for her less-than-stellar “Pretty Girls” duet with rapper Iggy Azalea at last year’s Billboard Awards.
Spears was also honored with the Millennium Award

3 Climbers Die In 3 Days On Mount Everest:

Three climbers died in three days on Mount Everest, including a Sherpa and two Westerners. Two other climbers are missing.

This year’s climbing season on the world’s highest peak resumed in April after a two-year hiatus due to acatastrophic earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015 and a deadly avalanche that killed 16 Sherpas in one day in 2014.
But tragedy struck again as authorities reported three consecutive days of deaths on the famous mountain.
