Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love has been placed in the NBA Concussion Protocol after reporting symptoms in the third quarter of the team’s 110-77 loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, Sunday night.

Love took an elbow to the back of his head from Warriors forward Harrison Barnes while going up for a defensive rebound in the second quarter. Love remained down in front of the basket despite play continuing around him, but remained in the game at the time. However, after the early part of the third quarter, Love removed himself from the game and did not return.

“Cavaliers forward Kevin Love experienced dizziness after returning to play at the start of the second half of tonight’s NBA Finals Game 2,” the Cavaliers said in a statement released after the loss.
