Forest Hill Park in East Cleveland continues to fall further into disrepair, and water service at the park has now been shutdown, with no signs of returning this summer.

East Cleveland said the water service has been interrupted due to broken water lines, but East Cleveland Councilwoman Barbara Thomas is concerned it may be part of a bigger issue.

Thomas told newsnet5.com her city is thousands behind on it’s water bill to the Cleveland Division of Water.

Thomas explained maintenance at the park should be a key priority, but admitted the park has suffered from neglect due to East Cleveland budget issues.

Residents at the park pointed to broken playground equipment, a tennis court filled with weeds, and walkways littered with bird droppings.
