McDonald’s held its 13th annual 365Black awards at the 2016 ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans and it was everything good.

The award show not only honored celebs (R&B singer Toni Braxton, NFL cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman and actress Wendy Raquel Robinson) for their public service, but local movers and shakers taking a stand in their community as well:

365Black McDonald’s Owner/Operator of the Year: Larry Tripplett

Community Choice Youth Award Recipient 1: Lauren Seroyer (16-year-old founder of the Community Assistance & Resource Effort Close program)

Community Choice Youth Award Recipient 2: Donovan Smith (13-year-old who makes soap and donates it to shelters)

Tillman was recognized for founding the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation for families in need, Robinson was recognized for founding the Amazing Grace Conservatory performing arts school for youth, and Toni Braxton, who was also honored with a musical tribute, was recognized for being a spokesperson for Autism Speaks and the fight against Lupus.
