Cleveland Prepares For Republican National Convention

The Republican National Convention starts one week from Monday, with delegates and party leaders due to arrive in Cleveland Sunday evening.

The city of Cleveland continues to prepare for the event, which will impact Northeast Ohio as a whole next week.

From road closures to the reason all these politicians are coming, here’s a guide to everything you need to know about the RNC.

The basics

What is the RNC?

The RNC is the Republican National Committee’s convention to officially nominate its presidential candidate.  About 2,470 delegates will attend the convention to select a nominee based on primary election results. Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee this year.

When is the RNC?

The convention runs July 18-21, though many attendees are expected to arrive July 17.

Where is the RNC?

The convention takes place inside Quicken Loans Arena.
