CLEVELAND – The Republican National Convention is wrapping up with only a couple of dozen arrests for mostly minor crimes, so what happened to all the talk Cleveland wasn’t ready?

Fox 8 went to see Steve Loomis, head of the Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association. For months, he warned the city wouldn’t have enough officers, or training, or equipment.

Now, Loomis admits he was proven wrong. He said, “I have to eat some crow, but that’s crow I’m happy to eat.”

He credits Cleveland officers, outside officers, even protestors for helping things run smoothly. Loomis said most of the public behaved and officers showed they could hang out with people and interact with protestors. “We’re not the villains some people make us out to be,” Loomis added.
