The nation is about to become familiar with Rep. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, as she chairs the Democratic National Convention in place of the embattled, soon-to-be ex-Democratic Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Fudge began her career in public service as a law clerk, doing research and advising Cuyahoga County Common Pleas judges.

She then worked for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Stephanie Tubbs-Jones.

When Tubbs-Jones was elected to Congress, Fudge became her chief of staff.

Fudge then was elected mayor of Warrensville Heights, serving nine years in office.

After the sudden death of Congresswoman Tubbs-Jones, Fudge was chosen to fill the remainder of her term and was elected to the office in 2008.
