A father faces a murder charge after authorities found his 4-month-old baby dead near the Little Miami River Monday.
Charles Crawford, 25, told Loveland police an unknown person abducted Kaylynn Crawford from the backseat of his car outside the Dollar General on Loveland-Madeira Road Sunday night, according to an incident report.
By Monday afternoon, search crews had converged on an area near the Little Miami River just off Glendale-Milford Road.
The girl’s remains and her car seat were located around 4 p.m near the riverbank.
“While we cannot release many specifics regarding this ongoing investigation, we can say that the report that Charles Crawford filed indicating that Kaylynn had been abducted from the Dollar General was fabricated,” said Savalas Kidd of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
