Bishop Stephen Halton Sr. and his wife Sheila know what it’s like to stand on faith.

Someone murdered their son, 30-year-old Stephen Halton Jr., on Jan. 11, 2014.

Stephen, a Cleveland Clinic employee, was called in that morning to assist in a lifesaving liver transplant surgery. But he never made it to the hospital, he was shot and killed as he waited for the bus.

Whoever shot him is still out there.

Now, more than two years later, his family says Cleveland Clinic has filed an appeal in court to deny death compensation benefits to his wife and kids.

“It hurts. We can’t believe they would appeal it when I know they are well able to take care of it,” said Bishop Halton.
