Former U.S. Congressman Steve LaTourette has died Wednesday night.
Chief of Staff Dino Disanto for Rep. David Joyce (R-Ohio) confirmed LaTourette passed Wednesday before 8:30 p.m., outside of D.C. Disanto was LaTourette’s former chief of staff.
LaTourette had been battling pancreatic cancer over the year. In a WKYC interview with Congressman LaTourette in March, he told WKYC that he was feeling good and continues to fight.
A Republican, he was the representative for Ohio’s 14th congressional district from 2003 to 2012. He was a representative for Ohio’s 19th congressional district from 1995 to 2002.
He endorsed John Kasich instead of backing the front-runner Donald Trump.
LaTourette did not seek re-election in 2012 because of frustrations he had with Congress.
