Police are investigating a fatal hit-skip Wednesday night.
A car struck a motorcycle near East 71 Street and Superior Avenue, according to police. The car then left the scene.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at University Hospitals.
Sources say the motorcyclist was an off-duty police officer.
But a second source says the victim is a former employee of the city. Her employment had not yet been reinstated, due to an open case in appellate court.
Authorities believe the suspect’s vehicle is a red or maroon, four-door 2004 Chrysler Sebring with Ohio license plate GUB8053. However, witnesses say the suspect’s vehicle could also be a Ford Taurus.
No other information is known at this time.
