Whoever started that rumor that GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer Donnie McClurkin is engaged is mistaken.
On Monday, Nicole C. Mullen, the singer’s ladylove, took to Periscope to confirm that, while the two are head-over-heels for each other, there is no ring on her finger.
“I will say Donnie and I are very much in love,” she told her fans with a wide, giddy grin. “We are definitely on the road to marriage. But somebody jumped the gun and it wasn’t him, putting out that we were engaged already.”
Calling the announcement of their upcoming nuptials “a little premature,” the “My Redeemer Lives” songstress, whose first public outing with McClurkin happened at this year’s Stellar Awards in February, clarified a few things.
“There’s a protocol that both he and I want to honor. So, are we officially engaged? No. Are we on the road to marriage? Yes. Are we in love? Absolutely yes,” she said before delving into her “Real Soul Food Bible Study.”
The rumor got started last Thursday evening after McClurkin sat down with Matt Crouch and his wife, Laurie Crouch, during a taping of TBN’s “Praise the Lord”. The overzealous host unexpectedly announced that the 56-year-old Perfecting Faith Church pastor was getting hitched and the audience went wild.
