Dylann Roof Case: New Court Documents Reveal More Details, Feds Say:

Dylann Roof, the man accused in the racially driven massacre at Charleston’s Emanuel AME Church last year, wrote two documents and had made a list of churches, according to recently filed court documents.

Federal authorities say the two handwritten documents, or what they are calling “manifestos,” were drafted by Roof, one before the 2015 attack and one while in jail

Roof also lays out a list of churches and his “selection of victims,” describing the defendant’s “decision making and specific choice to target churchgoers attending Bible study in order to magnify the societal impact of his crimes,” said the filings released Monday, which did not disclose the specific contents of the documents.
Handwriting analysis experts are among a list of expert witnesses expected to testify at Roof’s November 7 death penalty trial.

Ryan Lochte ditched by four major sponsors:

Speedo, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Gentle Hair Removal and mattress maker Airweave all said they would be cutting ties with Lochte after the swimmer admitted to lying about being robbed at gunpoint while in Rio.

“While we have enjoyed a winning relationship with Ryan for over a decade and he has been an important member of the Speedo team, we cannot condone behavior that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for,” Speedo said in its statement. “We appreciate his many achievements and hope he moves forward and learns from this experience.”

Ralph Lauren said it had signed Lochte to an endorsement deal specifically for the 2016 Games and the company will not be renewing the contract. The company, which early Monday still had a photo of Lochte wearing an Olympic medal on its Twitter home page, has since taken that image down.

Melania Trump Threatens To Sue News Outlets:

Melania Trump has threatened to sue The Daily Mail, Politico and at least eight other news outlets for defamation, her lawyer says.

Trump, the wife of the Republican presidential nominee, has placed The Daily Mail and other news organizations “on notice… for making false and defamatory statements about her supposedly having been an ‘escort’ in the 1990s,” Charles Harder, a lawyer for Trump, said in a statement.

In addition, Harder said that he had put Politico on notice for “false and defamatory statements” regarding its reporting on Trump’s immigration history. Politico confirmed that its reporters had been sent notices.

The notices come just three days after The Daily Mail, a UK publication, published a report citing a story in a Slovenian magazine that claimed a New York modeling agency that once represented Trump “also operated as an escort agency for wealthy clients.” That report was then picked up or referenced by other news outlets.

Nick Cannon Is Going To College And ‘Drumline’ Comparisons Begin:

Nick Cannon can now add college freshman to his resume.

The rapper, actor and “America’s Got Talent” host announced on social media Monday that he has enrolled at Howard University.
It wasn’t long before jokes about Cannon’s 2002 hit movie “Drumline” began. Cannon’s “Drumline” co-star, Orlando Jones, tweeted “Just remember @NickCannon ‘You’re on time if you’re 5 minutes earlier, You’re late if you’re on time!’ #OneBandOneSound PS – Congrats.”

Tracee Ellis Ross Is Having AMoment:

Tracee Ellis Ross is looking forward to the day that there is no longer discussion about diversity in Hollywood.

The actress is the first African American woman to be nominated for an Emmy in the outstanding lead actress in a comedy category since Phylicia Rashad was recognized in 1986 for her work on “The Cosby Show.”
Ross more than understands the significance of the nomination for her role as Rainbow Johnson on ABC’s very popular sitcom, “black-ish.” The show — nominated for three Emmys this year including best comedy series — artfully takes on tough issues about parenting, politics and race, with humor.
