President Barack Obama is planning to leave his presidency with a bang…
In conjunction with the American Film Institute, the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities, and South by Southwest (SXSW), Obama will host South by South Lawn, a one-day festival on the South Lawn of the White House on October 3rd.
The President was inspired by his trip to SXSW this year, when he and the First Lady Michelle Obama gave a series of speeches.
The fest will consist of three parts: Interactive booths to learn about new technologies and innovations, musical performances by well-known and emerging artists, who are using their music to inspire audiences, and the 3rd Annual White House Student Film Festival, which will showcase official “The World I Want to Live In”- themed selections honoring young filmmakers.
