The prospect of election night drama seems to dwindle with each new round of polling. But Donald Trump, perhaps trying to author a campaign cliffhanger, is determined to provide Americans with at least a measure of “suspense” on November 8.

During the third presidential debate, and in speeches and tweets before and after, the Republican nominee has repeatedly hinted, if not outright declared, that he has no intention of conceding a lost race to Hillary Clinton.

“I will look at it at the time,” was Trump’s debate response last week when moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News asked if he would, come what may, “absolutely accept the result of this election.”

California Guard Vets Told To Repay Millions In Enlistment Bonuses:

Ten years after the Pentagon enticed soldiers to reenlist by offering hefty bonuses, officials are demanding thousands of those veterans pay the money back.

Christopher Van Meter is one of the affected veterans in California. He earned a Purple Heart after he was hurled from an armored vehicle in Iraq. By 2007, he had already served 15 years in the Army and was about to retire — until the military encouraged him to reenlist.

“They entice you with another reenlistment bonus. Those bonuses were … around $15,000,” Van Meter told CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.

Kim Kardashian West Drops Lawsuit Against Gossip Site Over Fake Paris Robbery Claims:

Kim Kardashian West has dropped her lawsuit against a celebrity gossip site after it admitted that its reports suggesting she staged a robbery in Paris were false.

The reality TV star sued MediaTakeOut and its founder Fred Mwangaguhunga for libel earlier this month. The lawsuit cited three of the website’s stories that claimed French authorities suspected Kardashian West and her mother, Kris Jenner, of committing a crime by faking the Paris robbery three weeks ago.

The articles have since been taken down from the gossip site, which published a retraction on Monday.

“MediaTakeOut regrettably published a series of false stories about Kim Kardashian West suggesting she faked the robbery in Paris, lied to authorities and then filed a $5.6 million fraudulent insurance claim for her stolen jewelry,” MediaTakeOut said in the post.

With this move, which likely indicates the category she chooses to compete in for the Academy Awards, the field of contenders now has a little breathing room.
