Obama Unleashed:

Maybe it’s his rapidly approaching return to life as a normal citizen. Or the knowledge that, two weeks from Election Day, his preferred successor is enjoying a decisive edge over Donald Trump. Or maybe it was just the West Coast vibe.

In California this week, a loosened President Barack Obama left few Republicans spared in a fierce reproach of the party he now has little reason to placate. During a political swing through oceanfront gardens and tastefully appointed living rooms of La Jolla and Beverly Hills, Obama expanded his ire beyond the GOP presidential nominee in a cutting and specific fashion, savaging his longtime political opponents as craven, hypocritical and ultimately responsible for their own demise.

Corey Kluber Shuts Down Cubs In World Series Debut As Indians Win Game 1:

Until Tuesday night, Corey Kluber had never pitched in the World Series.

But the Cleveland Indians ace looked like a Fall Classic veteran, setting records along the way as he, coupled with catcher Roberto Perez’s two home runs, powered the Indians to a 6-0 win against the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Kluber, the 2014 American League Cy Young Award winner, made history in his World Series debut, becoming the first pitcher to strike out eight batters through three innings. At that point, fanning eight batters already was an Indians’ World Series single-game record.

NFL Kicker Josh Brown Released By Giants After Admitting Abuse:

The New York Giants released Josh Brown on Tuesday, days after authorities in Washington state released letters and journal entries in which the veteran kicker admitted to abusing his wife.

Brown said in a statement released through the NFL team: “In the coming days and weeks I plan on telling more of the pain I had caused and the measures taken to get help so I may be the voice of change and not a statistic.”
Brown, 37, had served a one-game suspension at the beginning of the season after being arrested in May 2015 in the Seattle area in connection with an incident with his estranged wife. Authorities recently closed the investigation; Brown has not been charged.

NJ Dad Jumps From Bridge Holding 2 Kids; He Dies, They Live:

Two toddlers survived a 100-foot fall after their father — possibly holding them in his arms — intentionally jumped off an interstate bridge over a river in northern New Jersey, state police said.

The father died in the fall from the Interstate 287 overpass near the Wanaque River, authorities said.
“When the officers found the children conscious and alert, it was nothing short of a miracle, that’s for sure,” said Capt. Christopher DePuyt of the Pequannock Township Police Department at a news conference Tuesday.
Trees underneath the bridge near the river apparently cushioned their fall, he explained

Colin Powell Says He’s Voting For Clinton:

Former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday he’ll vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, a high-profile snub of his party’s standard-bearer, Donald Trump.

Powell, who also served in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, backed President Barack Obama in both the 2008 and 2012 campaigns. He announced his plan to a Long Island group during a luncheon.
The announcement was confirmed by Powell’s chief of staff, Peggy Cifrino.
