Cuyahoga County voters from Greater Cleveland Congregations and the Amalgamated Transit Union arrived at the Cuyahoga Board of Elections Sunday afternoon to cast their ballots and protest the limited access to early voting in Ohio.

“It is a crime that in a nation founded for the people, by the people that the government would deliberately work to suppress the peoples’ voice,” Rev. Ronald Maxwell, pastor of Affinity Missionary Baptist Church said in a news release, who says the demonstration will show the collective power of faith leaders and citizens on the importance of access to early voting.

According to the release, Cuyahoga County has 1.2 million residents over 1,246 square miles, and only one location in which to vote early at the Board of Elections.
