Issue 108, the renewal levy for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District has passed on Election Night.

The Board of Education voted eight to zero in June to place the levy on the November ballot.

According to the Board, with voter approval the levy would extend for four years, but would not raise taxes.

In a statement, Cleveland Teachers Union President David Quolke said the following, ““While hundreds of educators, parents, students and community members volunteered countless hours for this levy, in the end, it was the residents of the City of Cleveland who said “YES” to their schools and to their community once again.”

“When students have stability in their schools and classrooms and educators have the materials necessary to teach with – we will see results in academic outcomes. The gains will continue as long as the stability continues.”
