The National Toy Hall of Fame announced its 2016 inductees on Thursday. The simple, yet classic swing, the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, and Fisher Price Little People will be ushered into the Hall on Friday, Nov. 11.

Swings are such a staple of playgrounds and back yards, it’s easy to forget the joy it brings – for adults as well as children.

“Ancient cave drawings in Europe, carved figures from Crete, and ceramic vases from early Greece document instances of humans on swings. In the 1700s, artists depicted French nobility swinging as an amusement of high-born adults,” the news release from the Toy Hall of Fame said.

Around since 1974, Dungeons & Dragons has always been popular, but saw a pop culture resurgence last summer when the lead characters of Netflix hit “Stranger Things” played the game and named the creature after a bad guy in their D&D game.
