Steve Loomis, president of the Cleveland Police Union, has been suspended six days following an altercation with another member of the division.

According to city records, charges on the physical confrontation were dismissed, but Loomis was found guilty on charges of improper conduct.

As a result, Loomis received a six workday suspension.

On Thursday, Loomis gave WKYC the following statement:

“This is an off duty family matter.  Out of respect for my daughter and granddaughter I will have no comment regarding the incident between my granddaughter’s father and myself which led to this discipline.  The appropriate appeals have been filed.”
