Much love and congrats are in order for Ruth La’Ontra who just said “I Do” to her longtime friend and now husband, Kashif Horton.
“We are perfect for each other,” Ruth says. “We’ve known each other since we were kids. Our families have always been close and for the last year, we’ve been quietly dating and it’s been an awesome relationship.”
The newly weds jumped the broom in front of about 50 guests on December 3 in North Carolina where the intimate wedding was officiated by Ruth’s father/manager Arvetra Jones, Jr.
While honeymoons typically come next, theirs is on hold until Ruth wraps up her work. She’ll be playing the Virgin Mary in a new holiday musical (The Uncut coming of Christ) at First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Upper Marlboro, MD til December 18 and is putting the finishing touches on her sophomore album due in 2017.
