A great year for LeBron James just keeps getting better!
Monday night, the NAACP Image Awards announced that Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will receive the Jackie Robinson Sports Award, when the 48th annual Image Awards are handed out in February.
The Jackie Robinson Sports Award, named for the pioneering Brooklyn Dodger great who broke baseball’s color barrier in 1947, is presented to individuals in sports for their high achievement in athletics, community involvement, promoting positive images, and contributions to youth.
LeBron has also recently been named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to the franchise’s first NBA title, and Cleveland’s first professional sports championship in 52 years.
