Sixth season American Idol winner Jordin Sparks once proudly waved the flag of purity, even sporting a promise ring, vowing to remain a virgin until marriage.
But after trading in her v-card and going through some painfully public splits, the professed Christian says she is back to practicing abstinence.
In a recent Instagram post, the Grammy-nominated singer opened a dialogue about celibacy by sharing a book she was reading on the subject titled, Chastened: The Unexpected Story of My Year Without Sex, by Hephzibah Anderson and Justine Eyre.
“Have you ever consciously been celibate? Why or why not? Are you celibate now? Why or why not? Did you plan on doing so, life happened & now you’ve recommitted? (Me!),” wrote the Sparkle actress.
That was Sparks’ way of finally admitting she intended to wait for marriage to be sexually intimate, but got off track along the way.
