Biden Confirms Obama, VP Were Briefed On Unsubstantiated Claims Against Trump:

Vice President Joe Biden confirmed Thursday that he and President Barack Obama were briefed last week by intelligence officials on unsubstantiated claims that Russia may have compromising information on President-elect Donald Trump.

CNN first reported that the nation’s top intelligence chiefs provided both the President and President-elect a two-page written synopsis of the claims, which came from a 35-page report compiled by a former British intelligence operative based on Russian sources. Intelligence agencies appended a two-page summary of the unverified allegations to documents prepared for the briefing on Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

Biden’s office confirmed that the vice president said he and Obama were briefed about the claims but said that neither Biden nor Obama asked for more information about them. Biden’s office also said the vice president told reporters that intelligence leaders felt obligated to tell Obama because they were planning on informing Trump. Biden also said he read the entire 35-page report.

Obama Throws Joe Biden The Best Surprise Party Ever:

Surprising everyone — including the guest of honor — President Barack Obama awarded Vice President Joe Biden the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction at a surprise sendoff event on Thursday.

“This also gives the internet one last chance to talk about our bromance,” Obama said.
Challenge accepted, Mr. President. While the Obama/Biden bromance has been well-documented, Biden’s surprise party was textbook. Appropriately, it was a lot like one of those elaborate proposals that are littered across the internet. The perfect finish to a bromance for the ages.

Bush Daughters Offer Advice To Malia And Sasha Obama In Open Letter:

President George W. Bush’s twin daughters are offering advice to Malia and Sasha Obama, who are soon to join them in the ranks of former first kids.

“We have watched you grow from girls to impressive young women with grace and ease,” wrote Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager in an open letter published by Time Magazine.
The Bush daughters — who first became familiar with the White House during the presidency of their grandfather, George H.W. Bush — recalled returning to the executive mansion in 2008 as young women to show the Obama girls around.
They said they had more advice now that the Obamas are moving into a new chapter of their lives.
“Now you are about to join another rarified club, one of former First Children — a position you didn’t seek and one with no guidelines,” the Bushes wrote. “But you have so much to look forward to. You will be writing the story of your lives, beyond the shadow of your famous parents, yet you will always carry with you the experiences of the past eight years.

‘Black-ish’ Presents Message of Unity In First Post-Election Episode:

The most recent episode of ABC’s “black-ish” was not only the post-election episode viewers have been eagerly awaiting, it was also the one viewers may have needed.

The episode, titled “Lemons,” took place two months after the presidential election. But as Dre (Anthony Anderson) pointed out, “everyone was acting like it had only been two minutes.”
Around the house, Dre’s wife, Bo (recent Golden Globe winner Tracee Ellis Ross), was healing her wounds by diving heavily into supporting multiple charitable causes. At work, the divisions among the staff had brought productivity to a halt and tensions were high.

Paul Ryan Tells Undocumented Immigrant He Doesn’t Want To Deport Her:

House Speaker Paul Ryan was asked point-blank Thursday by a woman whose parents brought her to the US as an undocumented immigrant at age 11, and who has remained in the country for 21 years since: “Do you think that I should be deported?”

“I can see that you love your daughter and you’re a nice person who has a great future ahead of you, and I hope your future’s here,” Ryan responded during a CNN town hall in Washington moderated by Jake Tapper.
President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to repeal President Barack Obama’s executive actions that allowed undocumented immigrants brought into the country as children and their families to remain in the country without fear of deportation.
Ryan said lawmakers are talking with Trump’s transition team about those immigrants — and said Trump’s focus is on violent criminals and building a US-Mexico border wall.
