He’s everywhere.

In Hollywood, in Silicon Valley boardrooms, in the nation’s highest courts, across thousands of lamenting Facebook posts, and even on the sidelines of your kid’s soccer game — there’s one name on everybody’s lips.
Donald Trump.
In just over two weeks as president, the former billionaire real estate mogul and reality star has seized control of the American zeitgeist. He’s permeated almost every area of national life, thriving in a sea of publicity, controversy and conflict.

Plenty of past presidents, including Barack Obama and John F. Kennedy, quickly captured the national conversation after assuming office. But Trump’s ubiquity is especially notable since it stems from his gargantuan, antagonistic personality and a governing philosophy that often exacerbates political and cultural fault lines.

DeVos Hangs In Balance Before Tight Senate Vote:

President Donald Trump’s selection for education secretary, billionaire mega-donor Betsy DeVos, appears to be his most embattled Cabinet pick, but Senate Republicans have largely held tight in their support.

Senate GOP leaders are confident they can squeak DeVos through the Senate with the support of 50 Republican senators Tuesday afternoon, plus a historic tie-breaking vote from Vice President Mike Pence.
But the surprise defection of two Republican senators last week — Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine — coupled with an intense lobbying effort by liberal and Democratic groups has made DeVos the first of Trump’s Cabinet picks to face serious jeopardy.

Britney Spears is asking for prayers for her niece who was injured in an ATV accident.

The pop star posted a photo of 8-year-old Maddie on Instagram Monday and wrote, “Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece.”
Maddie is the daughter of Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
The child was steering her ATV to avoid a ditch when she drove into a pond on the family’s property in Louisiana on Sunday afternoon, according to a statement from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards.
Family members rushed into the water to try and rescue the child, who was “trapped and secured by the seat belt and the ATV’s safety netting,” the statement read. First responders arrived on the scene within two minutes and assisted in freeing the girl, who is
reportedly in stable but critical condition, according to the Sheriff.

More Toddlers Suffer Eye Burns From Laundry Packets, Study Says:

From 2012 to 2015, the number of chemical burns to the eye linked to laundry detergent packets rose more than 30 times among young children, a new study says. More than 1,200 3- and 4-year-olds received such burns in that time period, according to the research published Thursday in the medical journal JAMA Ophthalmology.

Single-dose detergent packs, known as laundry packets or pods, entered the mass market in 2012.
“Each pod consists of a detergent mixture wrapped in a water-soluble film, made up of a proprietary polyvinyl alcohol polymer,” said Eric J. Moorhead, president and principal scientist of Good Chemistry LLC, a consulting firm.

Martellus Bennett Skipping White House Visit: ‘I’m Not Going To Go’:

Martellus Bennett told reporters following the New England Patriots’ historic Super Bowl win Sunday that he will not accompany his teammates to the White House, where they are set to be honored by President Donald Trump later this year.

“I haven’t thought about it. I am not going to go,” the New England Patriots tight end said. “I can elaborate later on in life; right now I am just trying to enjoy this … People know how I feel about it, just follow me on Twitter.”
Bennett added that he is “not really worried” about potential backlash over skipping the White House visit from the team’s owner, Robert Kraft, and said that he and his teammates avoid talking politics in the locker room.
