Trump Is Donating His Paycheck To The National Park Service:
President Donald Trump is donating the $78,333.32 salary he has earned so far to the National Park Service.
“It’s straight up. Every penny that the president received from the first quarter,” Press Secretary Sean Spicer told journalists at a White House press briefing Monday.
Spicer handed a check to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Tyrone Brandyburg, the superintendent of Harper’s Ferry historical site.
“The president is personally proud to contribute the first quarter of his salary to the important mission of the Park Service, which is preserving our country’s national security,” Spicer said.
UPS Unveils Saturday Delivery — And 6,000 New Jobs:
Online shoppers, rejoice: UPS will finally deliver packages on Saturdays.
The expanded drop-off schedule, announced Monday, means UPS (UPS) to go head-to-head with FedEx (FDX) and the United States Postal Service. Both of those companies already deliver packages to people’s homes on the weekend.
The change is “one of the largest in the company’s 109-year-history,” a UPS statement said.
It will also generate jobs. Saturday delivery is expected to create 6,000 new U.S. positions by the end of 2018, boosting the company’s domestic operations by 1.7%.
Melania Trump Gets Glamorous New Official Portrait:
The White House released Monday the official portrait of first lady Melania Trump.
The photograph was taken in the West Sitting Hall of the White House private residence, CNN confirmed. The photographer, Regine Mahaux, is well-known for her celebrity portraiture and has taken several pictures of Trump in the past, including high-glamour editorial images.
