*Wow, it must be more than interesting to be Joy Lane, the woman Facebook Live killer Steve Stephens mentioned in the recorded comments he made just before killing 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr.

Before he pulled the trigger, Stephens told the elderly man Joy Lane was the reason he was being killed in cold blood.

On Tuesday, Lane sat down with Fox 59 and spoke about how her life has changed since Stephens recorded himself killing Godwin in Cleveland on Easter Sunday.

“The hashtags Joy Lane, Joy Lane massacre, I don’t even know who Joy Lane is anymore, or how to pick up all the pieces of my world at this moment,” Lane told Fox 59 “I’ve got a lot of negative comments. Some even said he should have killed me.

Naturally it must have been reassuring to Lane when she met with Godwin’s daughters, Tonya R. Godwin-Baines and Debbie D. Godwin, who wanted to let her know that she shouldn’t blame herself. During their meeting, the daughters and Lane hugged each other and prayed.

Lane says her last conversation with Stephens was last Saturday and he told her he had quit his job and was moving out of state. She said they remained friends after their breakup and she wanted to get him help for his gambling problem.

She went on to say said the two had even looked at engagement rings at one point. However, they ended up mutually deciding to separate.
