TV One is prepping for the premiere of their original film Downsized starring two of our favorite people, husband and wife team Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker. The film depicts a suburban couple whose life is first thrown for a major loop when they become teenaged parents. Forced into a modern “shotgun” wedding, they must put their personal goals on hold in order to do what is best for their family.

The  success that  was meant to strengthen their family has become the very thing that is driving them apart. As a result, Michael desperately tries to hold onto everything he’s worked his entire life to gain. This leads the family on an unconventional adventure to restore the faith, hope, and trust that initially brought them together.

The film also stars Alexus Lapri Geier as Madison, Racquel Bianca John as Michelle, Isaiah John as Mike, Jr. and Tia Hendricks as Malaysia. “Downsized” is written by 2016 ABFF Screenplay Finalist Michelle McKissick and is directed by Rhonda Baraka.

TV One film will premiere the movie  at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Friday, June 16 at Miami’s Colony Theater and on TV One in August.
