Kabul Explosion: Blast Kills 80 Near Diplomatic Area In Afghanistan:

A suicide bomb attack hit near the German Embassy in Kabul during rush hour Wednesday morning, killing 80 people close to a highly secure diplomatic area, Afghan officials said.

In addition to the fatalities, 300 others were injured, the health ministry said.
A towering plume of smoke rose over the Afghan capital as emergency vehicles sped toward it. Soldiers in fatigues stood with guns drawn — the sounds of screams, blaring sirens and traffic piercing the morning sky.

Bystanders lifted wounded people from the back of cars as others hovered nearby as if in a daze, blood streaming down their faces. Mangled, burning cars stood nearby.

Covfefe: When A Typo Goes Viral:

Half a sentence and a typo from the President of the United States are the most-talked about trends on the internet.

Pretty much 2017 in a nutshell so far.
So here’s what we know happened.

Kathy Griffin: ‘I Beg For Your Forgiveness’ For Gruesome Anti-Trump Photo Shoot:

An apologetic Kathy Griffin took to Instagram Tuesday to issue a mea culpa for participating in a photo shoot that featured her holding up a bloody head resembling President Donald Trump.

“I’m a comic,” she said. “I cross the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it.”
She said she is asking celebrity photographer Tyler Shields to take down the photo.
“I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far,” she said. “I made a mistake and I was wrong.”
On Tuesday, Shields, who is known for his provocative images, released photos he did with Griffin that immediately came under fire from people on Twitter.

Actor Terry Crews’ Unexpected New Career Move:

For former NFL player-turned-actor, Terry Crews, professional shifts are clearly nothing new, though his latest career turn is perhaps more unexpected than the last: the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor launched his first ever furniture collection for the American brand Bernhardt Design during this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York this May.

“My first sketches were absolutely crazy, because I didn’t really have any furniture design training, but what I discovered was that what my furniture needed was a story, a narrative,” says Crews, whose collection was inspired by the idea of modernizing ancient Egyptian culture for a contemporary context.
