The warnings about “13 Reasons Why” seem to have been warranted.

A 23-year-old Peruvian man took his life and left behind tapes for people in his life, just like in the Netflix hit show.

Franco Alonso Lazo Medrano, an industrial engineer, jumped from the fourth floor of his apartment, according to Peruvian news outlet Diario Clarín.

He survived the fall, but was declared dead after being transported to the San Juan de Dios hospital.

During an investigation, police found a goodbye note to someone named Claudio and another note with instructions to deliver tapes that he’d recorded on his computer, according to the newspaper.

Police initially ruled out a third party in Medrano’s suicide, but his tapes are very similar to those from “13 Reasons Why,” in which Hannah Baker leaves tapes for people in her life who she blames for her suicide.

After complaints from suicide prevention groups, Netflix added warnings to the show….
