More Optimism Than Progress For Senate Health Care Bill:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell still has a few more tricks up his sleeve to pass the health care bill. What he doesn’t have is much more time.

The operation to get the votes is in overdrive at this point as leaders try to secure 50 as soon as possible so they can come back after the July 4 recess, get a new score from the Congressional Budget Office, pass a bill and move on to the rest of their agenda. There are still questions as to whether Republicans will have a new draft by the time they leave Friday.

“I don’t really know,” said Sen. Roy Blunt, a member of the GOP leadership. “It’s possible.”

(CNN)After months of winding through the courts, the so-called “watered down,” revised version of President Donald Trump’s fiercely litigated travel ban will finally go in effect at 8 p.m. ET Thursday.

Here’s what to expect for version 2.0:

Who can’t enter the US?

The test for foreign nationals under the Supreme Court’s ruling is whether one has a “credible claim of bona fide relationship” with either an entity (like a school or a job) or a person living in the US (such as a spouse).
If you can’t sufficiently establish such a close relationship, you are banned for 90 days if you are from Libya, Syria, Iran, Somalia, Yemen and Sudan, and 120 days if you are a refugee from any country.

Woman Fatally Shoots Boyfriend In YouTube Stunt:

A Minnesota woman killed her boyfriend Monday by shooting at a book he was holding over his chest, in a YouTube video stunt gone wrong. Monalisa Perez,19, was attempting to make a viral video with boyfriend Pedro Ruiz III, 22, to post to their YouTube account, according to a Norman County Sheriff’s Department arrest report.

Perez, who is seven months pregnant, called 911 on Monday evening, saying she had accidentally shot her boyfriend in the chest while they were making a video, according to the arrest report.

Michelle Rodriguez Threatens To Leave ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise:

Michelle Rodriguez is standing up for her female cast members.

The actress announced on Instagram that she is prepared to leave behind her beloved role as Letty Ortiz in the hit “Fast and the Furious” franchise due to its lack of strong female voices in the series.
“F8 is out digitally today,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram photo. “I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & I’m grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years … One Love.”

Naval Station Norfolk, Largest Navy Base In The World, Turns 100:

The world’s largest Navy base, Naval Station Norfolk, is celebrating 100 years of service to the country!

On June 28, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation setting aside money for the property on which Naval Station Norfolk is now located, making way for what would become a base that would revolutionize the United States Navy, the Hampton Roads region and truly the world as a whole.
