Queen Sugar star, Kofi Siriboe shared with Fonzworth Bentley during the Essence Festival when asked about being authentic, that being authentic is seeing yourself through the eyes of God and not the world.
“Being authentic is really seeing yourself through the eyes of God and not the world,” Kofi said.
Fonzworth also asked the actor to speak about a time in his life when he had to break ground for something new to raise up and grow.
“I had to sacrifice friendships and relationships,” he said. “I transformed and became who I was supposed to be and it was like God was talking back and the blessings started flowing.”
On what he would tell his younger self,
“I would tell my younger self to enjoy the journey,” he said. “I’m very goal oriented, but I’m learning that it’s more about finding and exploring. Take your time with it and choose to be happy in the process
