Trump Returns To White House To Confront Obamacare Fight, Russia Fallout:
The President will be called upon to rescue a Republican push to repeal Obamacare that now appears to be in significant trouble, and he is facing increasing fallout from his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which offered new openings to his critics.
But even as the turmoil deepens around his White House intensifies, Trump will only be home for a few days.
Actor Shia LaBeouf Arrested On Public Drunkenness Charge:
LaBeouf, 31, was taken into custody around 4 a.m., and was released later Saturday from Chatham County Detention Center after posting a $7,000 bond, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said.
The actor approached a bystander and a police officer asking for a cigarette, according to a statement from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. He became disorderly, using profanities and vulgar language, when he wasn’t given a cigarette, it said.
McCain: GOP Health Care Bill ‘Probably’ Will Die:
“My view is it’s probably going to be dead,” the Arizona Republican said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
Last month, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
unveiled a bill that had been written behind closed doors by a group of Republican senators. McConnell decided not to call a vote on the measure before the Senate’s break for the July Fourth holiday as it appeared not to have enough Republican support.
Senators are scheduled to return from the recess this week, several of whom voiced criticism of the bill while back in their home states.
Woman Killed In Shooting At Ohio Gender Reveal Party:
A group of people had gathered in the living room for the party to learn the gender of a pregnant woman’s expected child, when two gunmen came through the front door and opened fire, Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney said. The shooting lasted “maybe a minute or two,” and the suspects got away on foot, Denney said.
Denney said 22-year-old Autum Garrett, who authorities believe is from Huntington, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. The eight other victims, including three children — an 8-year-old, 6-year-old and 2-year-old — suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.
