The Republicans’ signature campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare came to a screeching halt Monday night after Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas came together, shocked Capitol Hill and vowed to vote against the latest draft of the GOP’s health care bill.

 Australian Killed By Minneapolis Police Was ‘Kind, Funny’:

The fatal shooting of yoga instructor and life coach Justine Ruszczyk has led to an outpouring of grief and tributes, in her home country and the Minneapolis community she had made her home.

Originally from Australia, Ruszczyk‘s death, at the hands of a Minneapolis Police Department officer, has made headlines in her native country.
Ruszczyk called police Saturday night to report a possible sexual assault in an alley near her home, her fiancé, Don Damond, said in a news conference Monday.

 

British Baby Charlie Gard To Be Evaluated By US Doctor:

Baby Charlie Gard, the 11-month-old with a rare, terminal medical condition who has been the center of an ongoing legal battle, will be evaluated by a doctor from the United States.

Charlie will be examined early this week, in London, by Dr. Michio Hirano, a neurologist at New York’s Columbia University Medical Center. Hirano is developing an experimental therapy that has been used on at least one American patient with a similar but less severe mitochondrial disease. He specializes in myopathies and other neuromuscular diseases.

Poll: Americans Say Health Care Is Most Important Issue:

A plurality of Americans say they believe health care is the most important issue facing the country right now, a new Bloomberg News poll has found.

Health care was cited by 35% of Americans as the most important challenge facing the nation.
It is the first time in the Bloomberg poll’s history that respondents have said health care is the most pressing issue. Since it was first included in July 2010 as a response to the question of which issue is most important, health care has never been cited by more than 20% of Americans as most pressing and has never outranked all other issues.

You can say a lot with an emoji — and you’ll soon be able to say even more.

Apple announced a collection of new emoji characters coming to iOS, macOS and watchOS later this year. The news coincides with World Emoji Day

While there’s a handful of playful options — from a coconut and a sandwich to a “mind blown” emoji — several feature more inclusive roles for women, such as one wearing a headscarf and another breastfeeding.
