New Order At WH Front And Center As Kelly Takes Helm:

Incoming White House chief of staff John Kelly’s ability to instill order was on the minds of those inside and outside the Trump administration Sunday, but it remained unclear to them whether he will be able to get his underlings to snap to.

President Donald Trump on Friday swapped in the homeland security secretary and retired Marine Corps general to be his chief of staff following Reince Preibus’ resignation from the job last week.

But when asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” if all staff members would answer to Kelly, White House budget director Mick Mulvaney simply responded, “I don’t know,” adding that he would report to Kelly just as he had Priebus.

Alabama Jailbreak: Two Inmates At Large After 12 Escape:

Two inmates remain at large after a jailbreak in Alabama, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s office.

Twelve prisoners initially went on the run from the Walker County Jail, in Jasper, the office said, but 10 have since been captured. It’s not clear when or how the inmates were able to escape.
Police have offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of any of the remaining escapees.
Off-duty personnel have been enlisted in the manhunt and the Jasper Police Department is also helping to search for the inmates, the Walker County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Facebook.

Outlaw Pastor Rob Bell Shakes Up The Bible Belt:

Ben and Ashley Baldwin were standing in line outside an Atlanta theater on a recent Sunday when they learned they were in danger.

The young couple — blond, tanned and draped in khaki and cotton summer clothes — were waiting to hear Rob Bell, a controversial California pastor, when Ben ran into an old college acquaintance.
After making small talk, the man handed the Baldwins a note. Opening it, they read a neatly typed message that began with, “A few questions to consider tonight.”
It asked whether Bell honored the Bible “as inspired by God.” Could his audience recognize “heresy” and guard against it? “As you listen tonight,” it advised, “ask God himself to show you what is true and what is not true.”

When Racism Cuts, Michelle Obama Helps Us Heal:

Three weeks ago, my house was pelted with watermelon rinds. No other garbage. Just watermelons. As soon as I heard the noise, I ran outside. When I saw the mess, I was enraged. I wanted to confront the culprit.

My anger was caused by something much deeper than watermelons. You see, growing up in the United States, I’ve been culturally conditioned to see the world always through the suffocating prism of race. And it’s not just me. This is a basic instinct for Americans of every race. No matter how much we say “everyone is equal,” our government policies, our history and our daily social interactions betray this lie.

Republicans Try To Move Forward:

After a chaotic week for President Donald Trump and his party, Republicans are facing a fundamental question: What’s next?

With a new chief of staff, communications director and press secretary in tow, the President clearly is seeking to “hit the reset button,” as his now former chief of staff Reince Priebus described it to Wolf Blitzer on Friday.
